Town and Country Care (Whitby) Ltd is looking for a Care Assistant to join our team of 50 local carers.

The role is based in Whitby, North Yorkshire and involved visiting elderly and vulnerable clients in their own homes. We operate in small teams and each team has access to a company vehicle for long distance visits. The shift pattern involves working every other weekend.


We also own a small Dementia and Residential Care Facility, Shetland House, which currently has 9 beds, available for short-term and permanent stays.


Duties include:

  • Personal Care
  • Medication Assistance
  • Meal Preparation
  • Household Tasks
  • Social Support

Job incentives:

  • Higher rates of pay for NVQ trained staff
  • Overtime premium for covering holidays and absence.
  • Set minimum hours per shift to compensate for cancellations, hospitalisations or gaps.
  • 2 monthly £40 attendance bonus for 100% attendance

  • All training provided, including care certificate and NVQ opportunities
  • Free uniform and PPE plus all training and shadowing work is paid at normal rate.
Basic rates for anyone aged 18+ start at £10.60 for weekday hours at £11.60 for weekend hours. These rates are then increased for NVQ trained staff, for overtime and increased for each years' service.
