    Job summary

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly receptionist to join our administration team. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be empathetic, have an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and be IT literate. You will provide excellent customer service and be able to work with our practice MDT team. Post for 36 hours per week Working days will be as follows (1 hour unpaid lunch) :

    Monday -

    Tuesday -

    Wednesday -

    Thursday - Noon

    Friday -

    Training will be available to use our clinical system (Systm1)

    GP receptionist experience desirable

    Main duties of the job

    GP receptionist experience is desirable but training will be provided to the right candidate. Answering incoming calls and dealing with queries/signposting. Scanning, processing repeat medications, registration of new patients and all administrative reception tasks.Excellent communication, team player with a good attendance record.

    Almond Road Surgery is a friendly GP practice with a list size of 7800 patients. We have been rated as Good by CQC in our 2022 inspection. We have a friendly administration team made up of 5 receptionists and 2 secretaries. The practice is focused on providing high quality care to our patients.

    Job responsibilities

    Receiving patients and consulting with members of the practice team. Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary

    Process appointment requests for all appointments from patients on the telephone and in person

    Deal with home visit requests

    Registration/deduction of patient records

    Process repeat medications

    Scanning clinical letters

    Email and photocopy as requested

    To have knowledge of all practice procedures

    To work in accordance of written protocols

    The ability to cover annual leave or sickness when required

    Essential

  • Good communication skills
  • Good standard of education
  • Desirable

  • Experience working in a GP practice desirable but not essential
  • Experience of Systm1 clinical system but training will be provided to the right candidate
