Broadcast (News Editor) / £45,000 - £50,000 / London (Hybrid) / Permanent

Overview:


My client, a media company based in Central London are looking to recruit an outstanding journalist to take an influential role at one of the UK's premier B2B titles.

The news editor will have responsibility for driving online news and news analysis contentfor their broadcasting website.


Role & Responsibilities:


  • To break great exclusive stories, generate ideas and features following leads
  • Manage and develop a team of three reporters
  • Be an expert contactbuilder and have a thorough understanding of news and editing
  • Help shape Broadcast's reputation and represent your title at major industry events, chairing panels and cultivating a personal profile
  • Writing scripts for bulletins, headlines and reports
  • Pitching ideas to editors and commissioners

Skills & Experience

  • Comfortable working under pressure and experience of working to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience of interrogating copy and exercising their editorial judgement
  • Letter writing
  • An interest in people, news and current affairs
  • Excellent interviewing and listening skills

Package:

- £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
