Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and creative individual who can drive forward the use of geospatial data within the Council's service areas. The successful candidate will have good ICT skills and experience in the use of mapping tools and datasets, with a desire to continue learning and developing in this field. They should be able to work with others to provide assistance and training on the use of GIS software.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist support and advice to users and departments within the Council regarding integration of systems with electronic mapping and geospatial data, including working within the remit of our Ordnance Survey licence agreements.

They will also be responsible for managing the infrastructure providing both base mapping layers and the provision of interactive maps both internally and for the public and assisting in the maintenance of the Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG), that updates the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG).

Our office is located on the banks of the Torridge estuary in Bideford, one of the most breath-taking parts of the South West within walking distance of the dramatic North Devon Coastline.
