Main Objectives:


  • Assist the Finance department with daytoday operations to meet deadlines.
  • Support those within and outside the Finance function by providing financial information, as required.
  • Assist Finance Manager and Management Accountantwith production of financial reports and analysis.
  • Assist department to develop, implement and manage change in Finance System and ERP.

The role is varied and provides access to a number of different areas of the business, and will include
:Duties 1.

To assist all team members in all aspects of the performance of the finance department. 2. To assist in the maintenance and improvement of the financial controls and transaction processing within the group. 3. To be involved in all companyaccounting functions including finance, treasury, purchase ledger, sales ledger and payroll. 4.

To assist Finance Director, Finance Manager and Management Accountant with production of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts,and annual statutory accounts to the Finance Director for presentation to the board.

To analyse and summarise nominal ledger transactions. 5. To provide reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts. 6. To provide other management information to othermembers of the Finance team under strict deadlines. 7. To attend all relevant internal and external meetings. 8.

To assist in the preparation of company and departmental budgets and forecasts, and monitoring performance against budget, including analysis ofvariances.

9. To provide holiday cover to other members of the department. 10. To work closely with external advisors to ensure compliance with government regulations and legislation. 11. To identify trends and look for business improvements and cost savings.

Accountabilities also include a responsibility on behalf of the job holder to undertake any other duties that are relevant to the job as requested by the line manager.


Job facts:

The role is based at the Company's head office, is a full time position on a Fixed Term contract for 12 months, with a possible permanent role thereafter

Person Specification

  • Be a part or fully qualified accountant (either ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least five years post qualification or work experience, preferably in a similar environment.
  • Possess excellent Excel skills.
  • Be confident and personable.
  • Possess the ability to communicate with all levels of the business.
  • Possess a high attention to detail.
  • Be able to deliver on deadlines.
  • Possess uptodate technical skills with knowledge of preparing group statutory Consolidated accounts.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Show a proven track record of change management.
  • Possess knowledge of acquisitions.
  • Be able to professionally challenge the finance director on a technical level.
