The E-Trading Risk Management (ETRM) team continues to grow as does the group's remit within the Risk organization.

ETRM covers all E-Trading activities across the firm with most of that activity centered in Citi's Market trading businesses (FX, Equities,Rates, Credit, Futures and Commodities).

ETRM works across each of the risk stripes - Market, Credit, Operational and Model Risk as well as Independent Compliance Risk Management, to develop the risk framework.

Working in partnership with each of the risk stripes, ETRM provides primary oversight ofthe firm's adherence to its E-Trading Risk Management Framework, policy, and standards.

Working under the direction of and reporting to the EMEA ETRM Head, this E-Trading Risk Manager will be responsible for independent oversight of E-Trading activities across Citi with a focus on Fixed Income, FX and Commodities E-Trading business at Citi.

TheRisk Manager will oversee the implementation of the E-Trading Risk framework within the Business, working directly with Business managers and Trading heads to ensure adherence to firm Policy and standards.


The E-Trading Risk Manager key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the Global E-Trading Risk Management policy is enforced across EMEA E-Trading activities
  • Maintaining rigorous second line challenge to ensure that EMEA E-Trading activities occur within the firms documented and measured risk profile by:
  • Helping to identify and categorize the risks associated with all E-Trading trades booked on various Citi Legal vehicles
  • Understanding the inventory of E-Trading Execution activities across Citi
  • Engaging in control processes such as a E-Trading Risk & Control Council & NAC where new E-Trading strategies are being used;
  • Reviewing intraday E-Trading Order exposure to identify and control 'runaway' risk.
  • Development and identification of key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of the first and second line control framework.
  • Establishing new and strengthening ongoing relationships with a network of key stakeholders, partnering with senior colleagues (Market, Credit, Liquidity, & Operational Risk as well as Quantitative Risk & Stress Testing (QRS)), inspiring with confidenceto provide insight and drive implementation of the strategic initiatives.
  • When needed, serving as the liaison with regulatory examiners, Citigroup (IA), and external auditors on all significant E-Trading Risk Management related issues
  • Participating in E-Trading key regional and legal entity forums;
  • Managing and centrally coordinating Citi's EMEA E-Trading Risk Management interactions with key external constituencies, including regulatory, other official institutions and rating agencies;
  • Driving continuous improvement and enhancement of policies and procedures, and robust governance processes across relevant Citi legal vehicles

Qualifications:

  • Solid related experience with the regulatory and market structure framework of US and global Electronic Trading systems and Alternative Trading Systems
  • Knowledge of FX, Rates, Futures and/or Commodities trading products and electronic trade flows essential with a focus on automated trading systems equities knowledge also desirable
  • Experienced Risk Manager and demonstrated ability to challenge traders and senior business management
  • Strong knowledge of financial products. Business analysis, program/project management, involvement in governance preferred.
  • Experience with Software Development Lifecyle (SDLC), testing and QA very desirable.
  • Excellent written communication skills and competence in portraying complex content in a clear, concise, and compelling manner
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior management and other stakeholders to successfully implement and deliver change.
