    Job summary

    You will be providing basic IT support to the practice with the help of our external IT helpdesk. You will also be helping with data quality and maintenance of patient records, running searches and audits.

    We are looking for a full time person to come and join our frindly team, but we will consider part time applicants.

    Main duties of the job

    To provide ITsupport to the practice and its staff.

    To generate andutilise data to ensure the efficient running of the practice and theachievement of quality targets.

    Administrativelysupport the clinical activities within the practice

    About us

    You will be working as part of the ITQA team, a vital team in the running of the Hadleigh Practice. We have over 20,300 patients so we are busy, but we are a friendly large team. We have a lovely working atmosphere and get together every year for a Christmas party.

    We offer 5 weeks of annual leave per year plus bank holidays, pro rata. You can also join the NHS pension.

    Job responsibilities

    Job responsibilities : -

    Working as part ofthe ITQA team the post holder will be involved in the following areas: -

    IT support and clinicalsystem administration

    Administration ofthe software systems used within the practice such as SystmOne, troubleshoot andreport any issues to our external IT helpdesk.

    To provide supportadvice and training for current and new practice staff in the use of ITsoftware. To set up and maintain new users according to practice protocol, showthem how to log on to the desktop and ensure they have access to required applications.

    To be first pointof contact with helpdesks of the clinical and other system suppliers.

    To oversee thesecurity and validation processes for the IT System, ensuring system accesscontrols are in place for all new and existing staff including issue/maintenanceof Smartcards and regular housekeeping is maintained, including the managementof user profiles.

    Maintain thepractice network and email system and online access by patients, liaising relevantorganisations to achieve this.

    Report anysignificant events relating to the IT systems to the ITQA Team Leader orPractice Manager.

    Data Quality and maintenanceof patient records

    To manage dataquality issues, providing advice and guidance to all practice staff.

    Monitor the patientdatabase including list size and demographics, to also manage registrations fornew and temporary patients.

    Ensure templatesare up to date and accurately entered within the appropriate time frames.

    Searches &Audits

    Routine Audits andrecalls for patients that meet certain criteria such as Asthma, Cytology.immunisations

    Input data monthlyon the CQRS portal

    Run contractsearches and reports as required.

    Ensure data isconsistently entered and run searches to find anomalies.

    Production ofperformance & Quality information

    To be aware ofnational, local and practice quality standards for chronic disease managementand to produce data for QOF (Quality Outcomes Framework) by recalling patientsfrom certain chronic disease registers.

    To collate monthlyscripts (PPAS) to enable the practice to claim funds for personallyadministered items that have been purchased by the practice.

    InformationGovernance

    To ensure thatmedical records are held securely within the practice and data is held in linewith NHS codes of Practice for records management, the RCGP Good PracticeGuidelines for electronic records, GDPR, Caldicott Principals, and Freedom of InformationAct.

    To ensure that anysuspected or actual breach of IT security is reported to the Practice Managerand investigated as required. To agree action and/or change ofpolicy/procedures as a result of findings with the Practice Manager and InformationGovernance Lead

    Ensure you havegood knowledge & up to date training on Safeguarding.

    General

    As a member of thePractice team, the post holder should:

    Take on any otherresponsibilities deemed appropriate for the position of IT and QualityAdministrator

    Work withinpractice guidelines and processes

    To takeresponsibility for own developmental learning and performance

    To participate inthe practice appraisal scheme

    To undertaketraining as required including mandatory and statutory training.

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including Maths and English (C/5 or above)
