    Anexciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified PsychologicalTherapist to work in the South Kirklees Core Team: a well-established CommunityMental Health Team for adults. The post offers a diverse working roleencompassing individual, group, multi-disciplinary, supervisory andconsultation work.

    The Core Team, inconjunction with the Trauma Informed Personality Disorder Pathway, aims toprovide trauma-informed care to individuals with complex needs. You will havethe opportunity to work within a friendly, fully integrated MDT who arededicated to developing better services guided by trauma-informed principles ofcare.

    This has included the further development of a robust DialecticalBehaviour Therapy programme; Structured Clinical Management; and aMentalisation Based Therapy provision.It also includes various other 1:1 psychological modalities (Integrative, CBT, Compassion Focussed, ACT, Psychoanalytic psychotherapy &EMDR). We also run therapeuticgroups.

    Main duties of the job

    Weare looking for an enthusiastic individual who is interested in positivelyinfluencing systems through promoting psychological ways of working, and who isflexible and creative in response to service pressures and patient needs.

    Therole will involve a wide range of activities, utilising various psychologicalmodels. This will include providing consultation, assessment, formulation,individual therapy, group-work and contributing to service developments andresearch.

    You will be working with a range of professionals from diversebackgrounds, including psychological therapists, Community Psychiatric Nurses,Advanced Practitioners, Social Workers, Psychiatrists, Support Workers andOccupational Therapists.

    Thereis professional and clinical support from Principal Clinical Psychologists, aswell as opportunities for you to develop your clinical interests in CPD andsupervision.

    Thereare also strong links with the University of Leeds Doctoral Training course forClinical Psychology trainees. Audit and evaluation are encouraged and supportedacross the Trust.

    Job responsibilities

    The post holderwill provide specialist psychotherapy skills within a multidisciplinary team.The post holder will provide a high quality clinical service to the users ofthe service.

    They will providehighly specialist assessment and intervention while working collaborativelywith non-psychology and psychotherapy professionals from other agencies andcarers.

    They will be clinically responsible to a senior clinical psychologistor psychotherapist. Clinical oversight of all work will be held by the clinicallead in the service.

    The job plan willbe delivered in the services the post is based.

    The post holderwill work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall frameworkof the team while observing Trust and National policies and procedures.

    The post holder will utilise research skills in audit, servicedevelopment and research relevant to the post.

    To offer consultation, supervision and training when required by otheragencies involved in the psychological, emotional and behavioural well-being ofpeople referred to the service.

    To provide consultation, assessment and intervention in the service.

    To work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary context.

    To provide assessment and treatment options for people experiencing moderate, severe and complex mental health problems .

    To exercise expert clinical judgement based on the highest standards of evidence based practise.

    To continually seek to expand and consolidate clinical skills using training, experience, and supervision.

    To provide specialist risk assessment of and intervention to people who present to the service.

    To follow appropriate Adult and Child Protection guidelines in all Clinical work, including close liaison with all agencies.

    To liaise and consult with the wider professional network in the care of the client.

    To work jointly with other team members in delivering the most appropriate clinical service to people and their families.

    To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients.

    To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients under their care and to effectively evaluate progress.

    Toreceive regular professional supervision from a senior Clinical Psychologist orpsychotherapist and where appropriate, other senior clinicians.
