    Rothschild & Co – Programme Management Department

    The Rothschild & Co Programme Management Department was created 5 years ago as a new global function. It is the department's vision to be the trusted advisers to the key sponsors of change and to enable the delivery of Rothschild & Co's strategy. Our aim is to create value for our clients and the business by orchestrating, accelerating and embedding change. To enable the group to be forward-thinking and relevant and to build consistent, sustainable approaches to firm-wide challenges.

    Role Overview

    You will be tasked with ensuring the smooth and predictable delivery of change projects.

    You will be responsible for delivering end to end change of medium to large strategic programmes, of defining, designing, implementing and embedding innovative solutions and for reengineering processes so that the group can provide a market leading service to our clients and colleagues.

    You will have a high degree of exposure to Senior Management at a Global, Regional and Country level and work collaboratively with the wider change team to identify and resolve business problems and maximize business opportunities

    The role is based in London but occasionally you will be expected to travel to France and Switzerland and more exceptionally to other countries outside of Europe.

    Responsibilities

  • Be able to work independently and have the gravitas and acumen to work with business at the Senior Management level and to challenge where appropriate.
  • Be self-motivated and driven but able to manage and work in a team whenever required.
  • Be easily accessible and available to support global business sponsor needs.
  • Work closely with and get support from global businesses and global functions to shape and deliver the change. Be able to connect the dots between businesses, regions, priority markets and countries for the business sponsor
  • Be able to cope and bring structure to ambiguous situations and problems. Be able to adopt an agile and flexible approach to work.
  • Be able to move between modes of thinking such as strategic to analytical or board to drilldown.
  • To engage with existing Business Analysts, Project Managers and other stakeholders to align requirements gathering standards.
  • To build robust control gates into your Project Methodology which link in with Architecture, Security and Compliance, SDLC and service operation processes.
  • To provide support and guidance to other team members where appropriate.
  • Ensure rigour is applied in meeting the requirements of each project gate (definition, design, delivery and embedding).
  • Contribute to the on-going strategy, development and growth of Rothschild & Co.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in Project Management in the creation on proposals, solutions and service offerings that have a significant Project Management element.
  • Review lessons learned from each completed project and update the master lessons learned themes.
  • Delivery of medium to large size projects where required, encompassing the following key tasks:Undertake a robust initiation of all in scope work streams in line with Rothschild & Co methodology, ensuring a baseline and approach for managing project scope, cost, time, quality, risks, communications, resourcing and change is considered and captured.Create and maintain an up-to-date and valid project schedule.Be responsible for the induction of project team members, to outline project goals and set expectations on ways of working.Be responsible for allocation of work to project team members and gain agreement from staff on the available time, cost and expected quality of deliverables.Manage the internal and client facing project library, ensuring that artefacts produced by the project are stored and managed centrally.Provide weekly reporting on project performance against time, cost, quality and customer perception against the established baseline.Undertake a weekly delivery review to present the weekly report to internal Rothschild & Co stakeholders.Be responsible for the proactive identification, validation and management of project risks and issues from the project team.
  • Experience

  • 3+ years of Project Management experience.
  • Proven experience of successfully shaping and executing against a global business strategic change agenda.
  • Proven experience of positive, challenging interactions with global Senior Management.
  • Proven ability in working across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural, diverse environments.
  • Successful experience in developing and retaining critical talent and building an effective team.
  • Industry recognised technical certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Six Sigma, Agile or Scrum Master training.
  • Experience of owning and delivering medium - large scale projects over £100k in value.
  • The ability to create robust project schedules with a traceable critical path.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • Strong presentation skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to adjust to changing demands and priorities.
  • Experience of multiple Project Management methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, Scrum and Hybrid.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with team members and clients.
  • Fluency in French would be desirable, but not essential.
