The Role:

  • We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our busy Information Governance Team. This team deals with data protection enquiries and investigations, complaints, and freedom of information requests.
  • Taking up this exciting role as Senior Information Governance Officer, you will use your experience in customer service and problem-solving to ensure a high quality of service when responding to Data Protection, Freedom of Information, and Complaints enquiries both from the public and internal clients. Your workload will be as diverse as the customers you will be working with.
  • You will be responsible for undertaking complaints investigations at Stage Three of the County Council's Corporate Complaints process, liaising with departments to resolve queries, and you will have the ability to influence situations to support positive outcomes. Your investigation skills will be used to review data protection concerns and help the County Council achieve high assurance in its data protection activities. Using an established network within the County Council, you will collate information to be released to requestors under the Freedom of Information Act and UK General Data Protection Regulation.
  • You will be joining a highly successful, supportive, and motivated team of professionals that support a broad range of services within the County Council. You will preferably have a good working knowledge of the public sector.
