    Occupational Toxicologist

    The Global EHS team plays a crucial role across the entire GSK business, spanning the product life cycle from early drug discovery to product manufacturing and commercialization. The focus is on providing essential EHS information at each stage to prevent harm to individuals, facilities, and the environment while complying with global regulations.

    As an Occupational Toxicologist, your expertise will support GSK in identifying risks related to working with chemicals, and developing internal practices and controls to safeguard GSK employees and contractors.

    We are ideally seeking candidates located in Stevenage, GSK House, Wavre, and Durham, US. Applicants from other locations will also be considered on a case-by-case basis.


    In this role you will...
    • Provide expert toxicology review of GSK Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for GSK substances, intermediates, and products. Collaborate with SDS authors for accurate updates.
    • Offer expert toxicology assessments and guidance for GSK products and materials globally, including developing Health-based exposure limits.
    • Deliver worldwide training and support on toxicology-related topics, establish effective communication processes, and manage the global EHS toxicology database.
    • Support worker safety testing programs at external labs for hazard characterization of new products and chemical registration.
    • Contribute to projects for regulatory compliance, author and review reports, guidelines, and procedures while ensuring harmonized approaches for toxicological assessments.
    • Stay updated on scientific developments, conduct research, and assess scientific information and regulations.

    Basic Qualifications
    • Significant experience in toxicology
    • BSc degree or equivalent in toxicology/pharmacology or related field
    • Research skills with literature searches, toxicology databases, and regulatory tools
    • Project planning, tracking, and management abilities
    • Continuous Improvement mindset
    • Ambitious, proactive, and motivated
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience in regulatory toxicology in pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical or related industries
    • Masters degree or equivalent in toxicology
    • Professional Certifications (e.g., DABT, ERT)
    • Understanding of global chemical regulations and hazard assessments
    • Knowledge of GHS and EU CLP regulations
