Mechanical Fitter

Location: Nailsworth, Gloucestershire

Hours: Monday to Friday: 08.00 – 16.30

Salary: Starting at £27,000 with an increase in pay after 3 months. Overtime available paid at time and a half.

Our client is looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their specialist engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a globally renowned company that serves the aircraft industry, providing solutions to the military, marine, and aviation sectors.

Summary of the role:

• Complete engineering duties for sub-assembly production.
• Fitting and final assembly.
• Assemble mechanical, electrical and electronic components and sub-assemblies.
• Assist with the production of fabricated assemblies of varying size and complexity.
• Utilize skills like marking out, cutting, folding, bending, weld joint preparation, and MIG welding.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies.
• Take responsibility for personal safety and that of others.

Skillset Required:

• Experience working from manufacturing drawings and sub-assembly drawings.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools for assembling components.
• Inspect completed assemblies for alignment, dimensions, and quality.
• Circuitry knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrics is beneficial.
• Basic electrical assembly knowledge and ability to read electrical circuit drawings are desirable.
• Experience in vehicle fabricating/fitting is a plus.
