Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join their team based in Thirsk.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of HR - you will be working in stand alone role.

Duties

  • Provide professional and robust first line advice and information to management and employees within the business
  • Assist and support managers with investigations and disciplinaries
  • Ensure that the organisation is operating under legally compliant HR policies and procedures and where necessary review and roll out policies in line with employment law and best practice
  • Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation
  • Support the Head of HR (North West Europe) in the recruitment of management positions
  • Take responsibility for the new starter process and making sure that the new employee is fully inducted
  • Support the Site Production Manager to make sure that there is a detailed training plan for new starters
  • Carry out exit interviews and periodic stay interviews
  • Prepare contracts of employment, letters of offer, new starter paperwork and right to work and reference checks for all new starters
  • Advise on pay and other remuneration issues and assist with weekly payroll processes
  • Work with the Director and Head of HR (North West Europe) on HR planning strategies, which consider immediate and longterm staffing requirements
  • Provide regular and periodic information to Head of HR (North West Europe) on the following:
  • Absenteeism, Recruitment, Employee Relations, Organisational changes, issues and concerns
  • Ensure absence is monitored and procedures followed, this would include making sure that managers and supervisors are completing return to work interviews and arranging absence review meetings
  • In conjunction with managers and supervisors carry out probation reviews & appraisals
  • Promote and coordinate site social, health, safety & wellbeing initiatives
  • Arrange occupational health referral appointments and work with third party provider
  • Support the coordination of the annual health surveillance in conjunction with HSE Advisor and Production Manager
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with the wider HR team and the organisation to achieve overall team goals and objectives
  • Work with departmental managers and L&D Manager to review training & development requirement and plans for staff
  • Making sure training and staff appraisals are carried out, collated and logged
  • Be an active team member on HR or company projects and initiatives where required
  • Take Health, Safety and Environmental ownership of yourself, others & activities within your areas of responsibility and raising all HSE concerns you become aware of, outside your areas of responsibility, with relevant managers.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years generalist experience
  • Being able to work autonomously
  • Experience of working in a fastpaced, challenging environment
  • Team Orientated
  • CIPD Desirable
