Sheet Metal Worker

Our client, based in Great Dunmow (CM6), is looking for a Sheet Metal Worker on a potentially temporary to permanent opportunity.


The role:
Working from fabrication drawings and using various metal work machines. The Sheet Metal Worker should be fully conversant with setting and operating Press Brakes and Guillotines and ideally have knowledge of using a CNC Punch Press
Sheet Metal Worker - Responsibilities

  • Shaping and cutting out sections using hand tools and machines
  • Deburring sheet metal
  • Finishing items with grinders and polishers
  • Measuring and marking dimensions on sheet metal, from fabrication drawings
  • Making one offs and prototypes

Experience Required:

  • Essential
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings
  • Good understanding of sheet metal work
  • Able to work out flat form/developed sizes from drawings
  • Fully conversant with press brakes, guillotines and notching machines
  • Be able to work with Stainless Steel & Aluminium
  • Understanding bend allowances for material calculations
  • Desirable
  • Experienced with Amada/Durma Press Brakes
  • Experience with setting and operating a CNC Punch Press
  • Willing to work overtime as and when required
  • Having own transport
Hours are 07:30 to 16:00 with 30 minute unpaid break
Pay rate up to £15.00 ph depending on experience.
