Pelvic Oncological Surgeon with a subspecialist interest in Robotic SurgeryThis is a new post joining a team of nine Consultants responsible for the provision of Urology services to Swansea Bay Health Board.
The Urology department is based on two sites at Morriston and Neath Port Talbot Hospitals, and delivers a comprehensive urological service for the local population as well as a tertiary referral centre for a range of complex urological problems across South West Wales.
The Consultant will undertake sessions at Morriston Hospital as well as on-call, in addition to sessions at Neath Port Talbot Hospital.
The post holder will provide general urological expertise and specifically possess the necessary skills and experience to provide complex pelvic oncological surgery with robotic surgical proficiency to our population, which will enable them to work cohesively alongside our current pelvic oncology team.
They will provide a significant contribution to the whole Uro-Oncology service via MDT, outpatients, theatres and day unit and will strive to ensure all regional urological pathways are delivered efficiently and effectively, and in consistency within national guidelines.

These services are supported by critical care facilities, which include general ITU and HDU, a cardiac ITU and HDU, a plastic surgery ITU and HDU and a full range of high quality diagnostic and therapeutic services.
The hospital component encompasses a Coronary Care Unit, several General Medical specialties, a well-developed Trauma and Orthopaedic service & a range of General Surgical specialties.
Acute, intermediate, primary and community care and mental health services are integrated into Swansea Bay University Health Board.Services continue to be delivered across a network of primary care practices, Community Clinics, Health Centres and a number of Community Hospitals, supported by three main hospitals - Morriston, Singleton, and Neath Port Talbot.
On Specialist Register with GMC as a Urological Surgeon or eligible for CCT within 6 months of date of interview and have passed exit exam or a statement of eligibility for registration issued by PMETB or a primary medical qualification and recognized specialist qualification from a European Member State which will allow direct entry to the GMC Specialist RegisterTeaching qualification/Higher qualification in medical education
