    Job Summary

    The Head of Operations, UK will oversee the daily operations, ensuring efficient processes, compliance with regulations, and effective management of staff and resources to support the company's strategic goals.

    This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing significantly to the company's success in the insurance and reinsurance industry.

    This is an in-person opportunity for our London office (not remote).

    Responsibilities

    · Developing and implementing efficient operational processes and strategies to improve productivity and reduce costs.

    · Ensuring that all operational activities comply with legal standards and internal policies, particularly those set by regulatory bodies such as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

    · Managing and developing a team, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high levels of competency and motivation.

    · Overseeing risk management processes, including the identification, analysis, and mitigation of risks that could impact the business.

    · Managing budgets, controlling costs, and possibly overseeing procurement to ensure that the operations are financially sustainable.

    · Continuously reviewing and improving operational processes and systems to adapt to changes in the business environment or industry standards.

    · Developing and maintaining a business continuity plan to ensure that the organization can operate effectively during disruptions or crises.

    Requirements

    · A bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, insurance, or a related field. Advanced degrees like an MBA or certifications such as Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or similar can be advantageous.

    · Extensive experience in the insurance industry, with a significant portion in management or operational roles. Experience specifically within an MGA or a similar insurance entity is highly beneficial.

    · A thorough understanding of the regulatory environment affecting insurance operations in the UK, including familiarity with Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) requirements.

    · Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, train, and develop a diverse team.

    · Strong strategic planning and organizational skills to effectively manage operations and contribute to the overall business strategy.

    · Excellent problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges and implement effective solutions.

    · Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement, including the ability to negotiate and manage relationships with partners, suppliers, and regulators.

    · Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and regulatory environments, and resilience in managing operational pressures and challenges.
