    Description

    This position is responsible for supporting the Category Manager in the development and execution of effective category strategies. Your responsibilities will include data analysis, supplier relationship management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize the product assortment, pricing, and promotions.

    Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Collect and analyze sales data, market trends, and consumer behavior to provide insights and recommendations.
    • Prepare regular reports on category performance, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
    • Support the development of data-driven strategies for assortment, pricing, and promotions.

    Assortment Optimization:

    • Assist in managing the assortment of grocery, dairy, frozen, supplements and health and beauty products based on sales data and market trends.
    • Collaborate with the Category Manager in developing and implementing assortment strategies.
    • Assist in conducting regular performance reviews of products and suppliers to ensure they meet quality standards and customer expectations.

    Pricing and Promotion Support:

    • Assist in the implementation of pricing strategies and promotional plans.
    • Monitor competitor pricing and promotional activities to ensure competitiveness.
    • Analyze the effectiveness of promotions and provide recommendations for improvements.

    Supplier Collaboration:

    • Support the Category Manager in maintaining relationships with suppliers.
    • Assist in negotiating contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
    • Collaborate with suppliers on new product launches.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with brand, vendor, brokers, marketing and operational teams to ensure alignment with category strategies.
    • Support merchandising teams in optimizing product placement and visual presentation.
    • Contribute insights and recommendations to support inventory management and supply chain efficiency.
    • Collect and aggregate deal and promotional opportunities for grocery, dairy, frozen, supplements and health and beauty replenishment buyers.

    Administrative Tasks:

    • Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of category-related information.
    • Coordinate meetings, presentations, and communications within the category management team.
    • Handle administrative tasks to support the overall efficiency of category management processes.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.

    Prior experience in category management or procurement is preferred.

    Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools.

    Excellent communication and presentation skills.

    Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

    Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

    Knowledge of the industry trends especially in store categories.
