Assistant Manager

To lead the team and provide support to young people with learning disabilities.

Hours

37.5 hours per week

Salary

Starting salary potential £32,273 per annum*(£27,242 annual salary) + (£3840 on call enhancement)+ (£1,191enhancement for 40weekend hours per month.)

*Figures based on base salary of £27,242 per annum, working full time (37.5 hours per week), calculated on 2 weekends on call days per month 4 weekdays on calls, and 25% hourly enhanced pay for weekend shift.

We are now looking for Assistant Managers to join our specialist residential services providing support for children and young peoplewith learning disabilities, autism, and complex health needs.


The postholder will be qualified to Level 3 or above in Children and young people award (or equivalent) and have at least two years' experience of working within a Children's residential setting.


The postholder will be directly accountable to the Registered Manager, supporting the Manager, deputising in their absence as well as taking responsibility for the management of the home, including the staff team, practice, budget, resources and the welfareof children and young people.


As an Assistant Manager you will share responsibility for ensuring that all practices are developed and performed within the organisational policies and procedures and the legislative framework pertaining to children and young people.

Safeguarding childrenand vulnerable people is a priority for all employees. Supporting the organisation's out of hours on call system will be required.

  • You will support the development, leadership and organisational culture while ensuring best practice promotes the wellbeing of individuals.
  • You will actively assist with the selection, recruitment, and retention of staff to ensure a safe, nurturing, and positive environment.
  • You will ideally have experience in managing a large staff team.
  • Contribute to the management and monitoring of budgets to achieve efficient and effective use of resources and delivery of a highquality home.
  • You will have strong knowledge of Children's Homes Legislation & Regulation, can develop, implement, and monitor systems which ensure standards are achieved to maximise a high quality of care in an environment that affords protection and appropriate control.
  • You will communicate effectively with parents and carers building positive relationships with families and other professionals.
