Listed below are the responsibilities this role will be primarily responsible for: Leading the transformation in culture to ensure prevention is a high priority within all maternity units and associated local systems.

Ability to operate autonomously as a professional. Ability to work at a strategic level with excellent communication and inter-personal skills. Experience of writing and presenting reports to senior managers, management teams, boards etc.

Experience translating national, regional and local policy into action. Experience of working within a multidisciplinary system including the NHS, local authority and voluntary sector. To have knowledge and understanding of confidential information management.

To be able to identify, analyse and interpret information and act as an information resource to the Local Maternity System Board Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

An understanding of the key issues and challenges in improving population health during the antenatal and post-natal period. Co-produce the prevention implementation action plan with maternity units and embed into routine practice. The duties and responsibilities listed above describe the post as it is at present. The post holder is expected to accept any reasonable alterations that may from time to time be necessary.
