    As part of a continual drive to develop our finance teams key function's ability to add value, we are currently searching for a driven individual to join Carter Jonas as an assistant financial accountant, based at our Peterborough office.

    You will ensure key controls over cash and the general ledger are maintained on a regular basis, including the management of work in progress valuations and other significant balance sheet accounts.

    You will also be key to supporting partner accounting, and the preparation of the annual financial statements, tax returns and audit completion.

    Please note:
    this is a hybrid role, based in Peterborough. Please only apply if you're able to commute into the office 3 days a week.
    Support the preparation of the statutory consolidated LLP and subsidiary company accounts in compliance with latest UK GAAP, IFRS and UK legislation
    Prepare schedules for audit in line with the requirements of the external auditors
    Provide support for the development of the financial systems
    Prepare the payment schedules for ad-hoc partner payments, and respond to ad-hoc questions and analysis requests in respect of Partner Accounting
    Be responsible for the accuracy of the Balance sheet, including monthly reconciliations, assets under construction, VAT and reporting
    Assist the Group Financial Accountant with cash management
    Assist the Group Financial Accountant with tax matters, including corporation tax computations and liaising with external advisers
    Conduct internal reviews of financial control processes and recommend and implement changes to eliminate weaknesses and increase efficiency cost effectively
    Administrative duties as required to include Life Assurance policies and procedures
    This list is not exhaustive and the role requires someone who is flexible and innovative in their approach.

    We are seeking someone who is AAT qualified or CIMA/ACCA part qualified, with up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards with experience in a professional services, corporate or LLP environment.

    Working knowledge of corporation tax computations for medium sized companies and VAT will be very beneficial. Fully computer literate with a thorough understanding of MS Office programmes including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ideally you will have gained substantial experience within a similar industry or reputable accountancy firm. #
