The appointee will provide consultant leadership as part of a committed senior medical team in Cardiology of 3 full time consultants with additional rotational consultant input from the Golden Jubilee National Hospital (GJNH) and a Cardiology specialty doctor.

This post has been developed with the GJNH and includes 2 cardiac Imaging (CTCA/CMRI – to be agreed with successful candidate) sessions per week based at GJNH. In line with the regional imaging strategy, it is expected that a CTCA service will be developed on the Inverclyde site in due course.

There is an ongoing interest within the department for support of junior doctors and supervision of a Clinical Fellow with an interest in Echocardiography. Many of the consultants have experience in support and induction of international graduate colleagues into the NHS and welcoming them to our hospital.

There is an established Heart Failure Liaison service and plans to develop an ambulatory heart failure pathway for the area. In addition, we have appointed and developed the role of Cardiology ANPs across Clyde
