This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, caring, and innovative manager to maintain a child-centred therapeutic home in a brand-new provision in Stoke on Trent for children aged 8-17 with learning disabilities.

We will consider experienced deputymanagers who are looking to progress and who can demonstrate the key skills at interview.

We have been sourced by the local Authority to provide a new therapy based residential care setting for young people with complex learning disabilities.

Our restorative and positive behaviour support approach focuses on understanding and addressing the underlyingneeds of children and young people, rather than on their behaviours and the challenges.

We are looking for an experienced leader who can demonstrate empathy, commitment, compassion, and the creativity needed to work with young people with varying abilities and from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and genders.

We want someone who can demonstratethe leadership, patience and resilience required in a role working with vulnerable young people and supporting a staff team.

The role requires:
Essential

  • QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Children's Residential Care backed up with exceptional leadership and management skills or the willingness to undertake this qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a residential leadership position.
  • 4 years' experience of working with vulnerable young people particularly people with a learning disability.
  • Therapeutic or Positive Behaviour Support experience.
  • A thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant legislation and Ofsted regulations.
Desirable

  • Current or previous registration with Ofsted as a registered manager, with a track record of good in Ofsted inspections.
