    Job Title: Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Forensic Chemistry

    Location: Cambridge

    Salary: £37,099 - £54,395 per year

    Job Type: Full Time, 12 months fixed-term

    The Role:

    You will join our School of Life Sciences, working with academics teaching and conducting world-class research in Forensic Science, Crime and Investigative Science, Biomedical Science, and Animal and Environmental Biology, based in our Faculty of Science and Engineering. We're a forward-looking and enthusiastic School with a vision that combines commitment to a strong and active research culture with excellence in learning and teaching. With a PhD or Professional Doctorate (or nearing completion within 18 months) in a related discipline you will have academic, casework and research experience in forensic chemistry. You will ensure high standards of teaching, whilst adhering to quality assurance standards, and provide an excellent student experience. You will be committed to research and prepared to work as part of multi-disciplinary teams, as well as developing your personal research activities. You will possess excellent communications skills and will demonstrate a flexible approach to work.

    Desirable candidates will have experience in a wide range of analytical techniques from amongst GC-MS, LC-MS, LCMS - Q-ToF, AA and ICP methods, NMR spectroscopy, chemometrics and Bayesian methods as applied to forensic chemistry, and experience across chemical and physical criminalistics. You will also be familiar with evidence collection and management, sample preservation, writing witness statements and court reports and presentation of evidence in court.
