Description
Come and join BCP Permanence Services for Care Experienced Young People, including our previously Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children.

We have vacancies for Personal Advisors to join our team, and are looking for people with a passion for supporting young people into early adulthood and beyond.

The journey into the world of independence can be challenging for our Care Experienced Young People, and as their Corporate Parent we want to make sure we give them the best possible foundations.

As one of our team members you'll hold high aspirations for every young person you work with, collaborating with our multi-professional colleagues (such as Probation, Housing, Education) to get things right so our young people can flourish.

We are keen to hear from anyone with a specialist working knowledge or a strong interest in working in this area of Children's Social Care.

You might be someone who has skills and knowledge from Education, Housing, Health, the Justice system, Social Care or youth work.

Our teams hold our children and young people at the centre of everything that we do and are persistent and tenacious in our work.

You will benefit from a planned and supported Induction, work using Signs of Safety as your practice model, and will receive regular supervision from your line manager.

There are also some excellent training opportunities and we are keen to develop the practice knowledge and skills across our workforce.

You will be part of a welcoming and supportive team where creativity and solution focussed practice can flourish.

Your main tasks will be to:

  • Hold a caseload of young people aged 16-25 who have care experience, working alongside social workers. They may need emotional, practical, and financial support. The role will involve a lot of direct work opportunities.
  • Assess need, plan coordinated services, review outcomes, complete accurate case records and support young people to achieve and maintain positive changes.
  • Creatively work with young people and other agencies to effectively reduce risks, including risks from drug use, exploitation, offending and homelessness.
  • Collaboratively work in partnership with other professionals to offer advice, support and guidance to young people; supporting them to prepare for independence.
  • Cover regular duty sessions for the team.
For an informal discussion about the post please contact:

  • This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the community and expects all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. Applicants to this post will be required to complete the appropriate level of Disclosure & Barring Service Check. Please refer to the Person Specification for more details._
