    Lecturer in Functional Skills English. (Launch Pad). Part Time Hours Per Week . Permanent.

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team of Lecturers at Leicester College. We are looking to recruit a lecturer with experience of delivering Functional Skills English to join Launch Pad.

    Launch Pad is an area supporting those who might have been classed as NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training), back into Education. Experience of supporting disengaged individuals is desirable. Launch Pad runs as a Study Programme covering Maths, English, Creative Industries and Personal Development. The course is designed to support those students who have been disengaged, or out of education for some time.

    For this role, the following skills are essential: the ability to work as part of a team, independently and to manage administrative work effectively. Have good communication and IT skills, and be able to classroom manage, promoting and role modelling positive behaviours.

    Applicants will hold:

    • Level 2 Maths and English
    • Qualified to Level 3 in English
    • Fully Teacher qualified Level 5 or above e.g. Diploma in Education and Training, Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent or be willing to work towards obtaining a teaching qualification.
