WHAT TO EXPECT
Body Chassis Engineering is one of the larger teams within the JLR PE organisation.

The department has complete responsibility for the design and development of all Jaguar and Land Rover BIW, Interior and Exterior, HV battery enclosures and Subframe systems from concept design through to volume production.

With an increasing emphasis on Systems Engineering and virtual development techniques, the department utilises advanced AVA CAD and CAE to support the product development process.

This role within the Vehicle structures CoC involves working with a wide range of materials and construction techniques, challenging functional and commercial targets and significant liaison with all internal areas of our business, as well as external component and system suppliers.


The role of Battery enclosures delivery Module Planner reports to the Battery Frames delivery Chapter Leader and is responsible for coordinating the project planning and general administration.

Coordinate and influence the cross-functional team to deliver to agreed targets, without direct responsibility for the team members.

Build, maintain and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Strong communication required at multiple levels from operational Manufacturing environment to Senior Management reviews/report outs.

Be the primary interface to the multiple Programme and Chassis Programme Leaders for the nominated active programmes.


Manage seconded team members to achieve agreed deliverables and gateway requirements, tracking and reporting on progress to Battery Enclosure Management team and Project teams as required.

Capture issues and track progress, reporting these to the Battery Frames Engineering Management & Programme management.


Key Accountabilities and
Responsibilities:


  • Supports the delivery Chapter Lead through virtual and physical prototype build phases, with iCreates, AIMS start up, JIRA impediments reviews and panel supply coordination.
  • Coordinates and prepares the report system delivery status for project reviews.
  • Builds and coordinates a robust Bill of Materials, updating and ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
  • Monitors production piece, tooling costs, battery enclosure weight and carbon footprint.
  • Coordination of the SCSS, EBERs, RMDV
  • Assists the project team in the delivery of iCreates to ensure that engineering delivery is on time to meet the robust gateways delivery of components / systems.
  • Assists the project team in coordinating the validation of new materials and technologies for use at JLR with Materials Engineering and Manufacturing/Stampings
  • Escalates key delivery issues in a timely way allowing corrective intervention to progress.
  • Ensures effective communication exists across all functions via full team participation.
  • Maintain the commodity plans up to date.
  • Coordinates supplier PMST meetings

WHAT YOU NEED

Knowledge, Skills and Experience


You'll be able to demonstrate effective team management and strong project management skills with experience of managing the delivery of multiple projects to tight deadlines.


Essential:


  • Proven project management capabilities with excellent execution skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Highly experienced in delivery of body structures / frames / HV battery components
  • Vis user of CATIA V5 or V
  • Degree in Engineering or comparable qualification
  • Engineering knowledge of Body Engineering component design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead the engineering of components and systems in context within a complex team environment.
  • Selfmotivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.

Desirable:


  • Proven management experience
  • Experience in working with HV batteries.
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams and influence decisions.
  • Experience in working in an Agile project environment.
  • Resilient and enthusiastic, an individual able to deliver results under pressure, whilst responding constructively to challenging new ideas and inputs
  • A dynamic and determined individual, highly driven, committed and results orientated.
  • Able to deliver quality and consistency in a complex, highly demanding environment.
