Complete Classroom Services are working with a
SEN School in Islington who are looking for a
Speech and Language Therapist to join their team from September 2024, but can offer an earlier start in the summer term.
You will be leading sessions for pupils with complex learning needs inclusive of autism (
ASD), social emotional mental health (
SEMH) and communication (
SLCN) challenges.

Islington, North London
Start date:
September 2024. Full time or Job-share opportunities available.
Salary:
Band 5/- depending on experience
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for:
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication difficulties in pupils with
ASD and
SEMH
- Develop and implement individualised therapy plans.
- Provide direct therapy sessions to individuals and groups, incorporating a range of evidencebased techniques and strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers, teaching assistants, and other professionals to integrate speech and language support into the wider curriculum.
- Support staff and parents/carers in reinforcing communication strategies and techniques in the classroom and home environment.
- Monitor and evaluate pupil progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to ensure ongoing improvement.
Requirements of a Speech and Language Therapist:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or similar field.
- HCPC registered.
- Previous experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist, preferably with children with special needs.
- Knowledge and experience of working with
ASD, SEMH and SLCN. - Familiarity with Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Makaton.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children with communication difficulties.
- Access to good references
- An Enhanced DBS
