Trackwork is a manufacturer of permanent way materials and this combined with our extensive track installation expertise, our experienced workforce and our fleet of road rail vehicles allows us to deliver contracts safely, on time and cost effectively.
We are now looking to recruit a full time Team Leader. The role will be based at Wallasey, supporting the Supervisor with the day-to-day management of the manufacturing area.
Responsible for providing leadership and line management to the Team, which includes coordinating workloads, monitoring issues, ensuring production and quality standards are met.
Key Accountabilities
- Supervising a production plan ensuring quality and safety is not compromised, ensuring all employees work in safe and efficient manner
- Control the health & safety requirements for employees and equipment within their work stations.
- Train and develop the team, providing support, direction and vison to enable employees to achieve high quality in working practices and processes.
- Ensure that safe working practices are adhered to and that all employees are using the correct protective clothing.
- Aid managers in conducting regular performance and training reviews for employees who require improvement.
- Contribute to maintenance upkeep and report the BDP's (Business Developments Plans) in your area.
- Execution of methodologies for Lean manufacturing, such as 5S and 7 wastes.
- Manage available resources such as overtime and absence cover, having a flexible approach to working hours as business demands.
- Monitor production resources, ensuring equipment and tools are checked on daily basis, ensuring production is adequate and balanced to meet fluctuating order demands.
- Assist the manager to produce maintenance schedules, monitor machine run times and ensure daily checks are conducted.

Qualifications and Experience Levels
- Ideally educated to BTEC or equivalent NVQ level qualification in a relevant manufacturing / engineering discipline.
- Proven product and industry knowledge.
- Experience in a leadership role.
- Knowledge and technical understanding of manufacturing processes, components and techniques.
