Coaching and Education Team Lead

The Company


First Step Sports Group is a leading provider of sports and dance coaching, as well as cycle instruction to schools and communities across the region.

Based in Yorkshire, with an expanding network of experienced team members, the business is comprised of 5 divisions, each specialising in a different area of physical activity development and delivery: First Step Physical Education, First Step Training, First Step Cycle, Ballers, and Kids Takeover.


The Position
We are seeking a full-time Coaching Team Lead with experience coaching in the sports and education sector.


You will maintain an excellent industry knowledge of department services and represent the brand, its vison, and values to ensure that the Group achieves its annual goals, and performance targets which focuses around, quality standards, growth, team performance, customer retention, staff retention and satisfaction.


This role requires an individual with strong leadership capabilities, communication skills and the ability to develop and implement successful management strategies.


It will be your responsibility to guide the delivery team by motivating the department Team Leaders to ensure that the company's vision and goals, delivery, and customer satisfaction targets are met.

It will be imperative to create and maintain an environment where the Groups teams can develop and excel.

  • Assist in the Groups recruitment processes
  • Complete practical assessments
  • Conduct Interviews
  • Achieve Group Goals/Targets
  • KPI Monitoring & Reporting
  • Maintain Delivery Standards, Performance & Quality Assurance Coordination
  • Product/Service Development
  • Recruitment Marketing Coordination
  • Delivery Team Induction
  • Annual Appraisals and review
  • Health & Safety Coordination
  • Staff Training & Development
  • Delivery support and Contingency Cover

Knowledge and Experience Requirements

  • Management, hiring and training experience
  • Natural leader
  • Quick analytical thinking
  • Knowledge and understanding of sport, education, or similar industry
  • Has a good understanding of Child Protection, Child Development, Health and Safety and Sports Equity principles, policies and procedures and subsequent training
  • Trouble shooting skills and ability to work well under pressure
  • Effective Communicator
  • Computer skills and reporting experience
  • Ability to manage a dynamic and changing workforce
  • Problem solving skills
  • Driving is essential for this role
