MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POST
To support in providing a professional Equality, Diversity & Inclusion service within South
Wales Fire & Rescue Service through effective delivery of the Service's Strategic Equality
Plan. To assist in the monitoring and review of initiatives to ensure consistency and leading
practice across the Service.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Duties:


  • To support delivery of the South Wales Fire & Rescue Service Strategic Equality Plan.
  • To support the wider Learning & Development team with all development activities.
  • To deliver all EDI workstreams whilst upholding and delivering on all organisational
policies and procedures i.e., in cognisance of data protection legislation, Equality and

diversity legislation whilst respecting confidentiality throughout all EDI led activities.


  • To continuously promote a positive and inclusive culture within SWFRS, focusing on
embedding SWFRS values and best practice principles of Equality, Diversity and

Inclusion, therefore championing SWFRS's as an employer of choice.


  • To support the EDI Lead and HR Manager for (LD&I) through the provision of statistics
relating to EDI matters, data and activities as and when required


  • To work collaboratively with other departments to support them in their embedding of

  • To research and identify leading practice within and outside of the Service and contribute
towards the continuous improvement of the delivery of inclusive services across South

Wales Fire & Rescue Service.


  • To support the wider Learning & Development Team with any ad-hoc engagement
activities to be held across the organisation.

**EDI Specific Duties: •To provide guidance and quality assurance on Equality Impact Assessments across the

Service.


  • To work internally with other teams e.g. Media & Communications to co-create, co
- ordinate and promote an Inclusion Calendar and programme of events to support

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion across South Wales Fire & Rescue Service.


  • To input into briefings and other materials on Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion as
necessary.


  • To collaborate, engage and communicate with all teams within the Service on matters
relating to EDI.


  • To assist with delivering Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion presentations and events
across all areas of the Service.


  • To aid in the planning and organising of internal Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion
networks.


  • To attend external networks, conferences and other events relating to Equality,
Diversity, and Inclusion.


16. To maximise the use of technology to deliver effective solutions to employees

throughout the service, e.g., through effective IT services in relation to EDI E-learning

etc.*****STANDARD SERVICE REQUIREMENTS

**In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined above, the post holder will be required to: - Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade and post.

  • Attend inhouse and external training courses as required.
  • Cooperate fully with any scheme or pilot scheme introduced within the department or across the
Service.
