    Our client, a leading tech start-up in the MENA region, is looking for a Head of Software Engineering. You will play a pivotal role in driving technology strategy and roadmap by building motivated and engaged engineering teams. **This role requires relocation to Dubai**

    You will be working closely with the exec and product teams to identify problems & opportunities and leverage tech solutions to serve our customers and business better. You will guide your engineering leads and their respective teams to scope, validate, build, deploy, and maintain the solutions that will realize these opportunities. We are looking for candidates who dream big, get things done, and are equipped for the start-up hustle.

    Responsibilities

    • Shape the engineering vision and strategy for the engineering organisation.
    • Build an environment that encourages teams to speak up and be effective, enabling them to have meaningful relationships and continuously improve.
    • Attract, lead and retain strong engineers.
    • Foster personal growth of individuals and enable an environment that cultivates the creation of effective self-organized teams.
    • Provides technology solutions to support business/product engineering teams in solving complex scenarios.
    • Work closely with product, design, and data counterparts to shape your product's vision and strategy.
    • Maintain close connections with technology peers from different domains and support cross-tech initiatives.
    • Ensure Domains and their teams follow best practices to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
    • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability across the group

    We are seeking an engineering leader who has the following:

    • 15+ years of experience building technical software products, with at least 4 of those years as a manager of an engineering team of 25+.
    • A history of scaling tech teams and products with a passion for mentoring your direct reports in both technical achievement and career growth.
    • Very comfortable remaining "hands-on" [Code reviews, system design & architecture]
    • Strong experience in building distributed and high-scale systems.
    • Build relationships and enable continuous channels for stakeholders from different
    • departments

    • Ability to focus on the core, separating the noise from the essentials to deliver simple, pragmatic solutions
