Warehouse Supervisor leading a team of four in the warehouse of a growing manufacturing business. The warehouse team are focused on goods-in and supplying parts and assemblies into the manufacturing lines. This is a newly created role in a growing company that is investing in new people, equipment and systems.
- Team Leading a team of four warehouse operatives, with a focus on goodsin; checking that deliveries are undamaged and goods received match the delivery documents, registering goods received, storing away in the warehouse and recording the storage location.
- Introducing warehouse good practice and process improvements to improve product flow through the warehouse, increase accuracy, improve stock rotation, and maintain the engagement of the team members, quite a few of which are long serving and committed staff members.
- Preparing the warehouse function to move from a mainly paper based system to the computerized system.
- Work together with colleagues purchasing, dispatch and manufacturing to ensure that there is a good flow of information and a collective awareness of delivery schedule adherence, stock accuracy and enabling production lines to meet their manufacturing targets.
- Look for ways to improve warehouse and inventory flow within the business to optimise delivery to production lines and reduce the pressure on the onsite storage space.
This Warehouse Supervisor job will suit:
- A Warehouse Supervisor with the motivation to deliver manufacturing warehouse KPI's alongside Quality, Cost, Continuous Improvement and most importantly Health and Safety objectives.
- Better suited to a warehouse team leader or supervisor that has worked with manually recorded systems as well as modern computerised systems.
- The ability to lead a small team of employed operatives, developing their skills and abilities during a time of growth and systems upgrade.
- Ideally an up to date FLT license, but more importantly experience of FLT or counterbalance good practice and safety.
- A confident, collaborative leader that sets high standards and equips the team to deliver to these standards.
