    Description
    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our newly refurbished Haematology & Oncology Day Unit. The successful candidate will be caring, passionate and highly motivated to provide safe, high quality and compassionate care.

    They will work on the Haematology Oncology Day Unit (HODU) & Mobile Cancer Care Units (MCCU) supporting patients who are receiving chemotherapy and supportive treatments for haematology and oncology conditions and providing support for their families and loved ones.


    Shift patterns are open to negotiation but usually include 1 long shift (8am - 8pm) and 3 short shifts (8am-6pm or 8am-5pm) over 4 day working week.

    Shifts are alternated between the Unit and the Mobile Cancer Units (MCCU).

    To work on the Haematology Oncology Day Unit (HODU) & Mobile Cancer Care Units (MCCU) supporting patients, and their carer's, who are receiving chemotherapy and supportive treatments for haematology/oncology conditions.

    The post holder will contribute towards the development of clinical practice and self-developmentandperform procedures required of the role and be prepared to learn new skills relevant to the role including administering chemotherapy.

    We are a national centre for telemedicine and introduced telehealth to the UK offender healthcare sector and also provide the service to patients in their care homes.

    Willingness to undertake essential training

    Understanding of haematology and oncology disease groups
    Knowledge of the care of patients receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments

    RGN Level 1
    Registered with NMC
    Recent evidence of study / professional development
    BSc / MSc in Health Care Studies
    Recognised teaching qualification (SLIP / ENB998 / D32 or D33) Cannulation and phlebotomy IV drug delivery
    Access to CVADs competencies Blood transfusion training
    Blood transfusion training
    UKONS SACT Passport
    Haematology Oncology modules

    Interest in caring for Haematology Oncology patients

    Relevant experience caring for patients with haematology / oncology conditions Experience of administering chemotherapy
    Palliative care knowledge
