National Express is currently recruiting for a
Process Improvement Associate based at our Head Office in
Birmingham, who will
work closely with company business functions as part of the business excellence team, to manage and facilitate hands-on process improvement activities/projects and to support the development of a culture of continuous improvement across the business.

The successful individual will build strong relationships at all levels of the organisation to ensure efficiency of business processes, by creating and supporting changes/improvements across the business.

We are looking for a highly motivated and flexible individual to manage constantly changing demands within a fast-paced environment. The successful applicant will be able to engage groups and be comfortable facilitating discussion and leading workshops.


What you'll do...

  • Support the Head of Business Excellence in the management, assessment and prioritisation of the Continuous Improvement Programme.
  • Manage your own portfolio of process improvements to improve quality, reduce cost and 5S

Workplace Organisation:
increase productivity by reducing wasted time, replication and rework

  • Support the delivery of OPERATE Self-Assessments across UK divisions, with an aim to assess continuous improvement and process maturity across the organisation
  • Conduct ongoing analysis to measure the impact of process improvements following the implementation of a change.
  • Promote open and constructive dialogue and cooperation encouraging collaboration and actively drive change through people, processes and technology.
  • Coach and develop local management teams in business process improvement techniques, taking a handson role where applicable
  • Deliver OPERATE framework coaching, supporting people to utilise data and deploy improvements.

What you'll need...

  • Proven previous experience in a role with exposure to change, project and process management.
  • Process Improvement experience and OPERATE training preferred.
  • Stakeholder management experience with the ability to influence and collaborate cross functionally.
  • Proven leadership skills and business acumen performance driven
  • Excellent presentation skills with solid communication capabilities and practices, both oral and written.
  • Capability to collect, organise and interpret data for effective decisionmaking.
