Our client is a renewable energy technology company, a leading developer of advanced battery storage systems in the UK.

They build and operate a portfolio of energy assets, developing projects from origination through to delivering grid services, and tradingon the power markets.

They have already developed and built over 300MW of large-scale battery and hybrid facilities in support of a renewable grid.

They are currently expanding and looking to bring on a Trading Analyst to join the team.

From the early stages of developing trading systems and analyzing the electricity market to improving forecasting and trading models, the role is suitable for somebodywho enjoys fast-paced environments, problem-solving and has an interest in leveraging technology to make good decisions.

The role involves working a shift pattern of extended days and/or nights, averaging 3.5 days on and 3.5 days off each week


Responsibilities:


  • Contribute to the executtion strategy of a 24/7 shift trading team
  • Active trading on the UK power market, making buy and sell decisions
  • Real time analyis of the UK power market and operation of National Grid balancing actions
  • Identification of value creation opportunities, developing trading strategies and asset optimisation models within UK Balancing Services, the BM and power markets
  • Collaborate with software development team on the implementation of expert advisory and automatic trading systems
  • Support the business development team around flexible assets and demand, to identify and optimise opportunities in a fastchanging regulatory environment

Requirements:


  • Minimum one year trading and analyst experience in the UK power market
  • Comfortable with programming scripting languages to interpret large and complicated data sets
  • Solid quantitative and analytical skills
  • Commercially focussed with accountable problemsolving abilities
