Hartlepool is a vibrant and energetic town with growing prospects.

As an authority we want to make Hartlepool the best it possibly can be and want dedicated, driven and committed staff to help us achieve that.

In return, we can offer a range of benefits including 21 days annual leave rising to 26 plus bank holidays, a Local Government Pension Scheme and a range of family friendly policies.

You will be a member of Hartlepool's Safer Streets Project Team, which is part of the wider Hartlepool Community Safety Team.

You will assist in the development and delivery of Hartlepool's Safer Streets Project targeting acquisitive crime and environmental crime in the Victoria Ward during

As part of a joint working arrangement with Cleveland Police, the Community Safety Team covers a wide range of enforcement responsibilities.

You will engage with businesses and members of the public to ensure legal compliance in a wide range of issues such as parking and traffic management, dog control, littering and fly tipping.

Your responsibilities will include issuing Penalty Charge Notices, Fixed Penalty Notices and be involved in prosecutions.

Due to the nature of the job, you will be required to wear a uniform and will work mainly outdoors, in all weather, as you will be carrying out patrols on foot for most of the working day.

You will work 37 hours per week on a shift pattern of 4 days over 7, which includes Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

There may also be a requirement to carry out some additional enforcement outside of the fixed core working hours (7am-8pm) for which overtime will be paid.

Whilst previous experience would be desirable, full training will be given.

It is more important to us that you genuinely enjoy working with people; have good interpersonal and communication skills; can work with minimum supervision and have the ability to deal with people firmly and professionally in what can sometimes be difficult circumstances.

What is essential is that you have a current full UK driving license to enable you to respond quickly to issues around the town.
