About the Service/Department
Hestia's Wandsworth/Richmond Domestic Abuse Service is an accommodation-based services supporting women and children fleeing domestic and other gender based violence.
The service aims to provide safe, temporary and supported accommodation for vulnerable women and children fleeing domestic abuse and to offer respite and safeguarding from further abuse and provide support for the emotional and physical needs of women and children fleeing domestic abuse.
We also aim to assist women in securing move on accommodation for the future and to develop recreational and learning facilities for women and children during their stay with us.
We are constantly evaluating our work in partnership with our service users to ensure that we maintain quality and that the women and children we support are truly at the heart of everything we do.

About the role
To support the Service Manager and lead the in the running of the service ensuring the delivery of a consistent and high quality service to women and children fleeing domestic violence in accordance with the mission statement and strategic objectives of Hestia and within the relevant legislative framework
Some other main responsibilities of the role include:
- To identify and make links with existing projects in the community, to develop joint DA training and awareness where appropriate
- To work alongside colleagues to organise inhouse training and information sessions on a range of issues for community services
- Under the direction of the Service Manager, to line manage, lead, motivate and support the team
About you
- Experience of promoting and developing service user involvement/co production
- Ability to manage staff
- Experience of working within a multiagency setting
- Awareness of risks associated with domestic violence in a working environment
- Knowledge of legal, statutory, regulatory and good practice requirements applicable to the provision of supported housing
- Knowledge of legal remedies available to women experiencing domestic violence
- Previous experience of using computerbased systems to accurately record work and client details
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and ability to manage complex tasks in clearly defined time frames (including accurate records, reports, case notes and interpersonal communication)
- To participate in the out of hours emergency oncall rota
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately
- Excellent knowledge of the impact of domestic abuse on women and children
