    Charles Brand are currently working on a range of exciting projects, including fibre installation across GB within our telecommunications division and various civil engineering projects within our civils division. We have recently been awarded a NI Water IF106 Framework and the Translink FW073 Framework.

    Role Overview

    This role is to support the roll out of full fibre broadband and the expansion of our network, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a major build programme; ensuring timely delivery of these works, to meet programme targets, whilst adhering to the necessary contract performance, safety and quality standards.


    Within this role you will supervise, and co-ordinate build partner civils activities in line with NRSWA & local HA requirements, as well as building and developing relationships with local HA's and ensuring safety & build compliance for all civils activities.

    What you'll do

    • Manage the full project lifecycle from allocation to closure. This includes managing quality and the return of relevant packs (civils) to close out jobs.
    • Ensure policies, procedures and processes are communicated and understood by crews on site.
    • Address/Report non-conformance/non-compliance early in order to minimise cost impact.
    • Coach and mentor field operatives to improve quality and compliance to NRSWA 1991, TMA 2004, safety at Civils and activations and to optimise customer KPI measures.
    • Set realistic weekly KPI's and deliver them in order to ensure good performance.
    • Provide updates and reports on a regular basis to the Works Control and Noticing departments.
    • Ensure all permit and noticing conditions are being met on site.
    • Report findings real time via a handheld device in conjunction with the Client and Works Control.
    • Identify where DFE'S are required and prepare submission to the Senior Management Team / Client for approval.
    • Manage and maintain existing LA relationships - carry out joint site meetings with the Client and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Identify Client needs and commercial opportunities - feedback on this to your Project Co-Ordinator / Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager.
    • Feed up correct reporting to the Project Manager and feed down precise instructions to the workforce.
    • Investigate jobs and assign responsible operatives for commercial reporting.
    • Keep accurate daily records of works planned and issues encountered.
    • Fully understand and implement the company safety policy and procedures.
    • Ensure that the programmes for the contracts are successfully delivered in a Safe, Quality and On Time Manner.
    • Ensure that a 'Right First Time' culture is adopted and developed throughout the business.
    • Complete Daily, weekly and monthly requests on various documents to include assessments, audits and reports.
    • Ensure that all additional works and measurements are recorded accurately to individual works.
    • Liaise with the Stores team on supplies needed for build and follow aligned processes in place.

    Essential:

    • Hold a CSR / CSCS or similar site card.
    • NRSWA / Street works qualified.
    • Have completed a S.L.G Traffic Management Basic course.
    • Hold a valid Driver's License
    • Ability to self-manage time and work within deadlines.
    • A great communicator and team player.
    • Experience within a telecoms, utilities, or civil engineering environment
    • Be willing to complete Company and Group H&S Induction (24-month Validity)
    • Have knowledge of the BT PIA Infrastructure.

    Desirable:

    • Trained in Emergency First Aid
    • Hold a valid Manual Handling certificate.
    • Hold a IOSH or NEBOSH Certification.
    • Confined Space Trained.
    • Hold a COSHH Certification.
    • GIS / AutoCAD knowledge
    • Experience within a telecoms, utilities, or civils engineering environment.
