    Description

    Mac Recruitment Group are delighted to represent our client, a UK wide leader in the energy from waste and renewable sector. A EC&I Technician is required to join the Hull plant on a full time and permanent basis.

    As EC&I Technician you will be responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems and instrumentation to ensure the efficient and safe functioning of the facility. Your role will involve hands-on work with various equipment, sensors, and control devices.

    Key Responsibilities for the EC&I Technician:

    • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and repair of instrumentation devices such as sensors, transmitters, and control valves.
    • Ensure that instrumentation equipment meets accuracy and reliability standards.
    • The EC&I Technician will diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
    • Collaborate with the engineering team to address and resolve control system malfunctions.
    • Assist in the programming, configuration, and modification of PLCs and DCS systems as directed by senior engineers.
    • Execute changes to control system logic and parameters.
    • Monitor and operate Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for real-time process control.
    • As EC&I Technician you will report abnormalities and assist in implementing corrective actions.
    • Participate in emergency response activities, including shutdowns, start-ups, and troubleshooting during critical situations.
    • Execute predefined emergency procedures in collaboration with the operations team.
    • Maintain accurate records of instrumentation maintenance activities.
    • The EC&I Technician will generate reports on equipment status, issues, and resolutions for review by engineering and management.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures during maintenance activities.
    • Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
    • Work closely with the Control and Instrumentation Engineer and other team members to ensure seamless integration of control systems and instrumentation.
    • Provide input for the development of maintenance schedules and procedures.

    Qualifications and Requirements needed for EC&I Technician:

    • Associate degree or equivalent qualification in Instrumentation Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
    • Practical experience in maintaining and troubleshooting industrial control systems and instrumentation.
    • Familiarity with PLC and DCS systems and basic programming concepts
