Carer/Care Assistant

Reports to:
Head of Care/Shift Leader

Salary: 10ph - £11ph dependant on experience

Swan Hill house is an elegant, 26 bed, Georgian residential home located in the heart of Shrewsbury town centre.

with onsite parking and lunches provided where possible, we pride ourselves on maintaining a balance between family oriented values and a professional atmosphere, where the residents are at the heart of everything we do.

With the same family owning us since our founding in the 1980's, loyalty and family values are at the core of what we do here at Swan Hill.

We are currently recruiting for a couple new carers to join our team.

This will be on a part time basis with hours varying from 18-36hours per week depending on the needs of the residents.

However you will get the same level of investment, development and training as our full-time team member with their always being the possibility of increasing hours should things work out well.

Below is a more detailed description of what the job entails and what we expect from this position.

Overview:

To provide personcentred care in accordance with best practice and legislative requirements
To support and enable Resident's to maintain independence and living the life they desire
To develop and maintain the necessary skills by undertaking required training.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

- ensure residents are at the heart of all care delivered

Support residents in maintaining their relationships and connections with the community

- ensure resident information is kept up-to-date by maintaining care-plans, recording observations, and writing daily notes
- support residents accomplish their daily tasks such as using the bathroom, eating and getting dressed.

Must Have:

- an ability to clearly communicate with staff, residents and their family
- a positive, can-do attitude
- a work ethic that allows you to work either individually or as part of a team.
- a desire to learn and improve constantly.
- basic administrative capabilities

Strong reliability

Desirable but not essential:

- previous experience in the care industry

Salary:
£10-£11 per hour dependant on experience.

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 12-36 per week

Salary:
£10.50-£11.00 per hour
