    Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Assistant Technical Officer to join our Pharmacy Department a t The London Clinic in Central London, W1G 6BW, with a competitive salary on offer.

    The oncology/haematology service is based at the purpose-built Duchess of Devonshire Wing, consisting of 4 inpatient wards, a busy day-case/outpatient facility and a radiotherapy unit providing diagnosis and treatment for patients.

    There are two pharmacies at The London Clinic, the one at the Duchess of Devonshire Wing provides aseptic chemotherapy reconstitution service for all patient receiving chemotherapy for cancer and non-cancerous conditions.

    The second pharmacy, based at 20 Devonshire Place, provides medication for all non-oncology inpatients and outpatients based at The London Clinic. We strive to provide high quality, efficient patient-centred services.

    The London Clinic also has excellent leadership and development programmes suitable for all levels of staff and strongly supports continuing professional development.

    Job Profile

    The Rotational Assistant Technical Officer is an exciting role where the post holder will carry out a range of duties covering areas of the pharmacy department including dispensary, distribution and procurement to provide an efficient and comprehensive pharmacy service.

    Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.

    Shifts: Monday to Sunday 9am to 7.30pm as rostered.

    Salary: £27,143 - £31,000 inclusive per annum, dependent of skills and experience.

    Key Duties

    • To provide a top up service to allocated wards and departments
    • To assist in day to day ordering of medicinal products.
    • Reception duties; Receive outpatient prescriptions, transcriptions and TTOs from the wards and entry of prescriptions details onto computer system (tracker) as per procedure.
    • To deal with queries from patients, carers and staff in a professional manner.

    Skills & Experience

    • GCSEs (or equivalent) grade A - C in Maths, English and Science (all 3 are required)
    • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team.
    • Able to use Microsoft Office and have basic keyboard skills.
    • NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services or equivalent desirable.
