An opportunity has become available for a Principal Engineer working within the Design, Contracts and Delivery Section, providing support to the team leader by leading and supporting the section in the delivery of a range of infrastructure projects throughout Cardiff.

Design Contracts and Delivery are a rapidly expanding team and are instrumental in the design and delivery of infrastructure projects within Cardiff.

The post will be required to leading a small team in a profit driven, high-pressure environment, delivering highway schemes for Cardiff and surrounding authorities.

Designing Highways schemes based on existing legislation and good practice.
Compiling and checking contract documents based on Method of Measurement for highway works and NEC4
Acting as Project Manager under NEC 4 ECC contract.
Managing the performance of a delivery team.

The successful candidate will ideally have proven experience of the delivery of highway projects, programming and resourcing, experience of financial monitoring and reporting on Welsh Government funded schemes within a local authority, understanding of highway design and NEC4 contracts and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Project.
