This is an exciting opportunity to join the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit and work in supporting in the tasking process.

The role is a great way to get involved in the response to serious and organised crime.


The Tasking Advisor supports the regional tasking work as part of the Gateway, supporting a team of police officers and staff in accurately recording all taskings consistently across the Agency and Partner Management Information System (APMIS).

You will be a point of contact for advice and support to SEROCU APMIS, identifying and resolving any user issues.


In this role you will be assisting the Gateway team prepare for meetings, understanding what support forces and other customers want from the ROCU and then flagging and highlighting issues which need escalation and responding to enquiries from a range of customers at all levels within organisations.

You will be supporting with the capture of demand across SEROCU and ensuring any transfer of risk processes are adhered to, correctly recorded and processed.


The role holder will receive continuous professional development and an induction to brief them on the key issues to consider which will support them to complete their role.

Training is also available on the different systems that the role holder will use as part of the role.


Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required on an occasional basis to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately record all tasking's received by the Gateway for SEROCU capability support ensuring consistent recording across the Agency and Partner Management Information System (APMIS). Maintain and manage updates on APMIS to accurately reflect the demand across the South East and assist with the presentation of data relating to this.
  • Ensure all SEROCU capabilities monthly demand is accurately identified and recorded on APMIS. This will involve scrutiny of data coming in from each capability and taking action where there is incomplete or missing information.
  • Ensure any Transfer of Risk process is adhered to, recorded correctly and processed.
  • Provide support to the Gateway team to prepare documents/presentations, contacting contributors to request information, insert information in presentation templates and proof reading documents prior to distribution.
  • Record, communicate and enforce actions and decisions made by the chair of regional tasking, SEROCU tasking and Gateway capabilities meetings. Minute and communicate results and progress.
  • Record and communicate daily management meeting updates to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Advise, support and be a point of contact for all SEROCU APMIS users, capability leads, SIOs and the Head of Unit. Identify and resolve user issues and increase the use and understanding of APMIS. This may involve delivering some ad hoc training sessions to groups of users.
  • Work closely with ROCTA (Regional Organised Crime Threat Assessment) and performance and assist in the production of the monthly ARROW (Activity Risk Review and Ownership) documents and administration of that meeting.

Further comments

  • The greatest responsibility is to ensure all SEROCU demand is identified and accurately recorded and all Gateway procedures adhered to.
  • Production of regional documents for tasking and intelligence meetings. Production is monthly, the content will depend upon operational activity and intelligence updates.
  • Key customers include ACC, Head of ROCU, Force Heads of SOC and Intelligence, Partner Agencies and SEROCU Capability leads.

Required knowledge/skills
Essential

  • Good standard of education or equivalent experience in administrative support.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a polite and professional manner.
  • Proven ability to work effectively under high levels of pressure, to tight deadlines and in a highly organised manner.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform clerical and administrative tasks gained through experience.
  • Proven commitment to continual professional development.
Desirable

  • Knowledge of relevant Police procedures/structures.
  • Experience or understanding of APMIS.
  • Experience or understanding of investigating Serious Organised Crime.
