Platform Engineer

Rate:
circa £700 a day inside IR35

Contract Length:
Initially 6 months, with probability of extension beyond

Working Style:
Hybrid, 2 days a week in office


Location:
Central London


Responsibilities:


  • Automate the deployment of Business Applications written in.
NET on a Windows platform using a combination of Ansible, PowerShell & Python via CI/CD pipelines.

  • Represent the CPT Team to other teams within the organization.
  • Contribute to the future planning and direction of the use of 3rd party and bespoke software maintained by the team.
  • Establish, implement and manage the methods of deployment (development, testing and production) and the processes and tools required to execute those deployments.
  • Manage issue tracking and agile development tools (Atlassian JIRA).
  • Document processes and user guides for integrated tools and scripts.

Key Technologies:

  • Windows 10, Window Server 2012, 2016, 201
  • Linux (Red Hat 7/8) operating system knowledge


  • SQL Server 2012/2014/2016/2017/201

  • Hands on experience of deploying Windows Application via Ansible required using CICD pipelinesOracle 10g/11g/12g
  • IIS and Apache Tomcat Web server skills


  • Atlassian

  • JIRA/Confluence/Crowd/BitBucket/Bamboo, JFrog Artifactory and Zephyr Enterprise
  • Scripting languages: PowerShell, Bash, YAML, Python, Perl, Jscript
  • Strong, working experience with Windows.
  • Experience working with modern CI & CD tools and techniques (Bamboo/Jenkins )
  • Proven work experience on CI/CD tooling like Ansible, BitBucket, Bamboo & Artifactory.
  • Active Directory, DNS, IPA, FTP, sFTP, SSL, general networking/Firewalls
  • Knowledge of stored procedures/functions, triggers, query performance monitoring, database maintenance, schema and data comparison tools (Redgate Tool belt for instance
  • Experience with version source control systems (Bitbucket, GitLab, GitHub or similar tool)
  • Practical experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
