Job Description - Workshop Controller - Automotive

Responsible for the running of the automotive workshop, reporting to Service Manager.

  • Planning and coordinating technicians workload, meeting customer requirements and maximising workshop utilisation and profitability
  • Cross check and sign off technicians hours/timesheets
  • Liaising with service manager and service reception of weekly resource planning/available workshop hours
  • Identify and report warranty repairs and additional repairs, upselling where appropriate
  • Inform and consult on vehicle progress to the front of house team
  • Manage the flow of information between the workshop and the reception, whilst delivering excellent customer service at all times
  • Keep customers informed of progress of their vehicle
  • Manage site resources
  • Provide technical support to workshop and service advisors
  • Manage workshop health and safety, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies
  • Welfare of workshop staff
  • Strong Team Leader
  • Knowledge of commercial vehicles (e.g. Merc / Iveco)
  • Ensure checklists and procedures are followed
  • Ensure QC procedures in place and followed
  • Receive and inspect customers' vehicles for repairs inline with company procedures

£34,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
