    Applications are invited for an LED ST1/2 in Medicine. We have great opportunity for a junior doctor to come and work in various Medical specialties at Leighton Hospital, Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

    This roles is specifically to cover the core ward base between the hours of 8am and 5pm. This posts are offered on a fixed term basis to cover a period of parental leave between st May 4 – st August 4. You will provide general medical care in a medical sub-specialty.

    Applicants should have general medicine experience, good communication skills and be a strong team player to provide safe patient care.

    The post may close early if a high volume of applications are received.

    Main duties of the job

    The main duties will be to follow the management plans written in the medical records from the Consultant ward rounds, daily review of the patients on the ward and undertake any routine tasks as requested by the senior team. In addition, completion of accurate discharge summaries will be required to inform primary care colleagues of the outcome of their patients inpatient stay.

    There will be opportunities to cover any rota on-call gaps if candidates express an interest in doing so.

    Qualifications

    Essential criteria

  • Full Registration with GMC and continue to hold a license to practice (3)
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • MRCP part 2 or equivalent
  • ALS or Equivalent
  • Must have NHS Experience
  • Experience

  • Competent in basic clinical procedures eg CPR, infection control, physical examination, history taking etc
  • Able to prioritise clinical need
  • Aware of own limitations, consults senior colleagues appropriately and knows when to ask for help

  • Knowledge of UK health systems, practices and values and awareness of current issues in the NHS
