    JOB PURPOSE

    • Financial Controller and business partner providing accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis to support the decision making and financial control oversight of the manufacturing facility. Responsibilities will include leading a Plant finance team.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead and manage the finance team, providing all aspects of financial control and transactional processing for the production facility.
    • Provide proactive business support and financial analysis to the Plant manager and management team
    • Manage financial reporting in a timely manner including
    • Monthly Management and statutory audited accounts;
    • Monthly P&L's comparison to budgets
    • Monthly balance sheets and Monthly cash analysis
    • Review Balance sheet reconciliations held on "Blackline"
    • Oversee cost effective financial back office activities (payables, receivables, credit control, banking, VAT returns etc)
    • Prepare accurate and timely annual financial plans/budgets and monthly outlooks/forecasts including cash forecasting.
    • Support the Finance Controller – Compliance UK in maintaining effective internal controls relating to:
    • Sarbanes Oxley
    • Senior Accounting officer etc
    • Support the site management team in the appraisal of new investment proposals
    • Proactively contribute to a continuous analysis to remove or drive down costs, maximise revenues and recognise synergies with other GPI sites across the UK.
    • Proactively participate in the continuous analysis and review of site profitability by individual production activity and provide the financial support to bring about change.
    • Conduct performance reviews, design development plans and set annual goals and competencies for finance team.
    • Co-ordinate and control regular reviews of debtor and creditor reviews to ensure accuracy of records.
    • Assist other roles within the Finance department where necessary.

    TECHNICAL SKILLS/QUALS

    • Finance Qualification – desirable, still considered if experience obtained within a similar industry at a financial controller level or higher.
    • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a Financial Controller role
    • Excellent excel skills, Outlook & Word
    • In depth finance experience – ideally in Manufacturing or FMCG
    • High attention to detail
    • Computer literate, SAP experience beneficial
    • Knowledge of SOX and SAO - extremely beneficial
    • Experience of working to tight reporting deadlines (Corporate reporting environment)

    • Excellent communication skills essential, ability to give clear written and verbal instructions, clearly understand and explain technical and commercial issues to customers and have a good understanding of procedures and processes.
