And right now, we are looking for an experienced Lead Pricing Analyst to join our team. This is an exciting time in Saga's history.

As a Group, Saga is taking to the seas in luxury cruise ships and leading the market with innovative insurance and financialproducts.

This role is complex, challenging and can make a key difference to the future profitability of the company. You will be instrumental in improving Saga's commission pricing for the Home insurance products.

You can expect from the start to be making real contributionson a variety of different projects utilising the experience you have already gained.

You will be a proactive individual with strong knowledge of pricing methodologies, KPIs & customer journeys.

You will be working closely with the Pricing Manager to develop and implement complex solutions to help our pricing capabilities become the marketleading standard.

You will have strong A-Levels in Maths, Statistics or equivalent and a Maths based degree.

You will bring an understanding of how to organise data so that it can be used to identify trends and anomalies and numerical reasoning skills to be able to explainobserved trends in data with logical argument.

Main Responsibilities:


  • Making significant contributions to pricing model development and granular pricing analysis, including use of machine learning, and identifying new data sources to modernise pricing models.
  • Monitoring performance of pricing models and amending where required
  • Developing management information and performing adhoc analysis to help inform key business decisions.
  • Understanding and explaining emerging trends in the Home market.
  • Investigating and implementing innovative technical solutions to new and complex problems which sit outside of BAU work.
  • Being proactive and using experience and judgement to develop value adding proposals, with little or no input from a pricing manager.
  • Collaborating with other team members on project work, demonstrating enthusiasm and contributing actively to discussions.
  • Acting as a first point of contact, role model and mentor for fellow pricing leads and junior analysts.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of General Insurance pricing processes and methodologies
  • Strong Knowledge of modelling methodologies such as GLMs or machine learning.
  • Strong numerical and statistical capabilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, e.g. time management, documentation etc.
  • Able to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Good experience in programming languages such as SQL, R and Python.
  • Knowledge of modelling software, such as Radar, Emblem, or similar systems.
  • Part Qualified Actuary or higher.
