    Description
    Position Summary

    In this role the EHS manager will lead, and drive the effective management of environmental health and safety, aspects for Dover Fueling Solutions' Dundee factory.

    The EHS manager role interfaces with a wide range of people including assembly operators, indirect staff, senior management, and the regional and global Dover EHS teams in order to ensure top-percentile performance and continual improvement.

    The holder of the position must be a Subject Matter Expert for EHS - someone who can provide expertise related to identifying areas of risk and implementing proactive solutions designed to control risks while ensuring compliance with company policy and legal requirements.

    The role will have a strong sustainability and environmental focus.

    Position Responsibilities
    Champions a strong safety and sustainability culture site-wide
    Build engagement strategies working with own EHS team, safety committee and other stakeholders across the site
    Compiles, analyses, and interprets internal/external data to prevent/mitigate EHS risks.
    Review and develop all written safety and health programs and ensure consistent application across all functions.

    Develops required EHS safety training curriculum and assists with site implementation, to meet the standard imposed by legislation, approved codes of practices and EHS guidance.

    Own and coordinate audit, review and strategy for ISO 140001, 450001, and 50001 standards.
    Maintain corporate safety library/EHS software system.

    Conduct all risk control processes, including risk and COSHH assessments, as required by legislation and ensure these are reviewed at relevant intervals and records are accurately maintained.

    Ensure all accidents, incidents and Hi-Po events are promptly investigated and, with the use of CI tools, root causation is clearly identified, and corrective actions implemented.

    Empower operational staff to present ideas and create EHS improvements in processes.
    Collaborate with the Senior Leadership of the operational areas, to identify project opportunities and bring continuous improvement activities

    Provide EHS support within operations, being a coach and mentor as well as the main contact point for any EHS related issue, including escalation of any required reports, such as RIDDOR.

    Maintain and develop EHS KPI dashboards and other visual indicators for the site.

    Act as the EHS representative in the management of change activities, including product development, to ensure risks are controlled within their introduction.

    Coordinate and manage first aid, mental health first-aid and fire representatives.
    Work with external bodies such as SEPA, Scottish Water and others to ensure lowest environmental risk from site activities

    Qualification Requirements
    Previous experience in a similar role is essential (min 5 years)
    Fluent in English language, both verbal and written
    Qualification in occupational health and safety, such as a masters, NVQ, BSC or NEBOSH national diploma is essential
    Understand the application of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all other legislation relevant to a manufacturing organisation
    Previous experience directly managing a team or people is desirable
    Previous experience with Mental Health and related best practices is desired

    Good presentation skills, including use of Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    Other Requirements
    ~ A degree of flexibility in working hours as occasional work supporting factory shift patterns may be required.
