    Trainee Nurse Associate - Apprenticeship
    Our professional responsibility is to reduce the risk of infection to others as far as possible. Getting vaccinated against diseases that can be passed person-to-person in healthcare settings is part of this responsibility. The Trust will provide advice, guidance and support on vaccinations and access to vaccinations where requested.

    We are searching for aspiring apprenticeswho would like to develop a career within our mental health services.

    Our NursingAssociate Programme offers you the chance to achieve a professionalqualification that forms part of the nursing family as a registeredpractitioner with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

    This qualification alsoforms part of our career pathway to train to become a Registered Mental Healthor Learning Disability Nurse, to enable you to build a career in one of theUKs most progressive Trusts.

    In partnership with Plymouth University, you will join us as aTrainee Nursing Associate and over two years will undertake the NMC approvedFoundation Degree that leads to the professional qualification.

    The Nursing Associatewill work as part of the team, delivering evidence based health and social carethat focuses on the holistic needs of service users.

    Mandatory attendance at a virtual briefing session, delivered bythe Trust and University of Plymouth on 29th or 30th April 2024 delivered via MS Teams

    The academic programme has a start date of Sept 24 although we willaim to have apprentices in post within the Trust before this date.

    We provide mental health & learning disability services, as well as a range of specialist & secure services for the wider south west region & nationally.

    English and Mathematics at GCSE grade C/4 or Functional or Key Skills at Level 2.
    Evidence of recent study to level 3. Due to the current Government eligibility criteria for Government funded apprenticeship schemes, we are currently only able to accept applications from candidates over the age of 16 who have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years, and who are not already in any form of Government funded education

    Describe why you would like to qualify as a Trainee Nurse Associate
    Previous experience working in a range of different health care settings, (statutory or voluntary).
    Experience of working clients/patients with complex mental health problems.
    Working in a mental health setting (statutory or voluntary).
    Experience of working independently within defined procedures and care pathways.

    This post requires the post holder to undertake and comply with the Trusts policies on manual handling and Breakaway/restraint core training if relevant to their clinical area of work.

    Able to travel and work across the area covered by the trust as requested by Line Manager
    Able to work changing shift patterns as required
